Lima, Peru November 25-27, 2016 Stayed at Lucky Lodge. Owner is a rider. Bikes were not stored inside but in courtyard type area in front of the hostel behind a locked chain. Also the street that the hostel was on was also behind a locked chain and security would only let you through on vehicle if you were staying there. It was very secure. Room clean and quiet. Breakfast provided by the hostel with ticket that took to the restaurant next door.

Somewhere between Huacana and Morcolla, Peru December 5, 2016, Camped at the top of a mountain on a plateau, incredibly cold but incredibly beautiful.
Cangallo, Peru December 6, 2016 Can’t remember the name but we parked our bikes in the courtyard. Room was nothing fancy but clean. Cute little town out in the mountains. The locals acted like they didn’t see very many travelers before and we got lots of stares.
Ayacucho, Peru December 7-10, 2016 Stayed at Los Alamos Gran Hotel. Decent price with restaurant below, breakfast was not included in the room price but was only 1 block off the plaza so had plenty of other food options to choose from.
Huancarama, Apurimac, Peru December 10, 2016 Stayed at Hotel Milton for the night. Simple room but they were having a wedding that night so there was music and dancing until after 4am. Earplugs worked for awhile but eventually we went downstairs and hung out at the reception. Lots of Fun!!
Ollantaytambo, Cuzco, Peru December 11-13, 2016 Stayed at Las Portadas Hostel. Had a huge secure area for motorcycle parking and for a small fee they stored our bikes and while we took the train to Aquas Calientes. Great place to stay.
Aquas Calientes, Cuzco, Peru December 13-16, 2016 Stayed at Gringo Bill’s Boutique Hotel which is located just off the plaza. Had a beautiful room with a good breakfast included in the price of the room. Paid a little more but we enjoyed our stay there.

Rio Colorado, Rio Negro, Argentina January 4, 2017. Stayed one night at Hotel La Maison Gerber, beautiful little B and B with a great restaurant, Bervatino, just a few minutes walk away. This town also has a great motorcycle shop for repairs and maintenance called Zaccara Motos. One of the guys was very knowledgeable and did an excellent job on one of the carburetors, also was super cheap.
Puerto Madryn, Chubut, Argentina January 5, 2017
Puerto San Julian, Santa Cruz, Argentina January 6, 2017. Stayed in a great little one bedroom house that we were connected to from this hotel that didn’t have secure parking for us. The house was great, we had it all to ourselves and was gated so we could bring the bikes into the yard. We scored on this deal, absolutely loved it.
Chile
Cerro Sombrero, Chile, Tierra del Fuego January 7, 2017. Stayed at Hosteria Tunkelen, nice clean place not far from the ferry where we met some riders from Australia, Brazil and Italy. Right when you come into Cerro Sombrero it’s easily visible and a few bike tour companies bring there clients there to stay so when we saw ten AVD bikes parked out front, we stayed there. Also has a restaurant on site for decent food, not the greatest but edible. Breakfast included in room price. Rather spendy but so is everything down here in Tierra del Fuego so we just had to get used to it.
Argentina
Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego, Argentina January 8-14, 2017. Stayed at Posada del Pinguino and Hostal Malvinas which were right across the street from each other. Places fill up rather quick in Ushuaia but we were still able to find rooms without reservations but just not at the same place for all the nights. But since they were so close we didn’t have to move the bikes. Discovered that secure parking didn’t seem to be an issue in Ushuaia and many bikes were left on the street all night. Had a place recommended to us that was super cheap, Hostel Lo de Momo’s and it did have secure parking but when we checked the place out, it was just too run down for us to stay. We did recommend it to a number of backpackers who were on a super tight budget and it worked great for them.
Rio Grande, Tierra del Fuego, Argentina January 14-17, 2017. Spent first night at Grande Hotel and the other nights at Hostel Argentina.
